Commentary: Commentaries must provide an in depth, rather than superficial, review of a topic, showing a novel way of interpreting the scientific literature.The main text can include an Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Relevant Sections, Discussion, Conclusions, and Future Directions, with a suggested minimum word count of 4000 words and include at least two figures or tables. Review articles should be comprehensive and submitted by authors who are in the field. Systematic reviews should follow the PRISMA guidelines. Reviews: These provide concise and precise updates on the latest progress made in a given area of research.The structure is similar to an article and there is a suggested minimum word count of 2000 words. They can also include cutting-edge methods or experiments, and the development of new technology or materials. Communications: Communications are short articles that present groundbreaking preliminary results or significant findings that are part of a larger study over multiple years.Animals has no restrictions on the maximum length of research manuscripts, provided that the text is concise and comprehensive.įor all Western blot figures, densitometry readings/intensity ratio of each band should be included the whole Western blot showing all bands and molecular weight markers should be included in the Supplementary Materials.
